Vicar: The Revd Dr Michael Leyden

fullsizeoutput_d6cMichael has been the Vicar here since 2014, coming to us from Liverpool Diocese (where he was born and bred!). He is married to Anna, and they have two children, two cats, two guinea pigs, and one greenhouse.

Michael oversees preaching and teaching across the Parish, and together with the PCC he is responsible for the leadership, mission, and ministry of the churches, and setting the vision for the future. He is in the parish on a part-time basis, and spends the rest of his time teaching at St Mellitus College.

Michael is always in the Parish on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and may be around at other points in the week too. The Vicarage answerphone is always on!

Church Warden (St. Mark’s): Mr Roger Bracey

Church Wardens are responsible for the good order of the buildings, and for ensuring that everything that happens in and around church functions well and that events go off without any problems. Roger is our Church Warden at St Mark’s Shavington. He also chairs the St Mark’s Committee and is a member of the Parish Leadership Team.

Church Warden: (All Saints’): Mr Robert Galloway

Robert is our Church Warden at All Saints Weston. He also chairs the All Saints Committee and is a member of the Parish Leadership Team.

Reader Emeritus: Mrs Margaret Hodgkinson

img_1126Along with Gaynor Bracey, Margaret leads the Parish Pastoral Care Team, and is responsible for Craft and Chatter on Thursdays at St Mark’s. She also leads and preaches regularly in the parish, and is a member of the parish Leadership Team. Most importantly, Margaret works with the other Readers and the Church Wardens to keep the Vicar on the straight and narrow!

Reader (Licensed Lay Minister): Mrs Ginny Lewis

Ginny loves to get creative in worship, and uses her many talents in art and crafts to help young and old like connect with God through prayer. She leads and preaches regularly, and is a member of the parish Leadership Team. She is married to Dave and is a very active mother and grandmother, as well as involved with the local Rotary Club.

Reader (Licensed Lay Minister): Mrs Anna Leyden
IMG_1460Anna preaches and leads worship regularly, and has special responsibility for Explorers! and Edward Bear Club. She is also our parish Children’s Champion, and very willing to speak with any children about things that might be bothering them in church. Anna is a member of the parish Leadership Team.

Anna is also mum to two small children, and in her spare time she has the dubious honour of being married to the Vicar! She previously worked in the charity sector.

Trainee-Reader (Licensed Lay Minister): Mrs Gaynor Bracey

Gaynor is part-way through her training for Licensed Lay Ministry, and leads and preaches regularly in the Parish. Together with Margaret Hodgkinson she has leads the Pastoral Team, and is also part of the GLOW! team, and helps with Edward Bear Club. Gaynor is also a member of the parish Leadership Team.

Safeguarding Officer: Mrs Gwyneth Prew

Gwyneth acts as a kind of sign-post within the Parish should any issues of safeguarding occur. She is responsible for both children and vulnerable adults in this regard. If there are any issues of safeguarding which you feel she needs to know about, then please get in touch with her directly. Gwyneth worships at St Mark’s Church on Sundays, but has responsibility for safeguarding across the Parish.
