A message from our new Vicar

First of all, I would like to express my sincere thanks for the wonderful welcome I received at the induction service on May 3rd. It was lovely to be greeted by so many friendly faces, and afterwards, to enjoy the wonderful hospitality of both churches. I don’t think I have ever seen so much cake! I am both excited and humbled by the opportunity to be vicar of All Saints and St. Mark’s, and am really looking forward to getting to know you all. I do enjoy a cup of tea and a chat; my usual working days will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. I am based at the vicarage in Weston where the kettle is always on, and the coffee machine primed and ready to go! Please do feel free to pop in and say hello, or to arrange a time to meet. I will also be out and about in both communities, and I hope to see you at one of our many groups, services or events taking place throughout the year.

Pancakes, bread and songs

We’ve had great fun at Edward Bear Club and GLOW this week.

At Edward Bear Club, we had lots of singing this week & then heard a story about Jesus going into the desert. We made craft of a good that we found tempting – Pizza.

And at Glow, after enjoying some tasty pancakes with chocolate & ice cream we heard about the period of Lent. We made our own delicious fresh bread & had pancake races.

We’d love to see you next time.

Sunday Celebration 3rd March

Sunday’s service, after a buffet breakfast, focused around the story of Jesus being tempted by the Devil in the wilderness (desert).  During the service we had our “thank you” prayers suggested by the congregation, followed by Celtic circle prayers! We all enjoyed an illustrated story about the events in the desert. Whilst the children made “pizzas” choosing from all their favorite foods and thinking about Lent and giving up something, the adults listened to a reflection on temptation and what “wilderness” may look like to each of us and why we might be tempted?

The next Sunday Celebration will be 9:00 for breakfast; service starting 9:30, Sunday April 7th 2019, at St Mark’s Church Shavington – come and join us!

Edward Bear Returns!

We had a great time at Edward Bear Club on Monday 25th February.  It was great to meet everyone and we learned all about the Lost Sheep and made some sheep of our own.

We meet every Monday morning 9am-10:30am during term time at All Saint’s Hall.
